Nov 19, - Tom Collier reviews the Giant Anthem Advanced SX , Blister Gear and I made an uncharacteristic choice for my last ride of the day.
I was similarly happy with the Avid Guide RS brakes.
However, while the cable-actuated mm Giant post works reasonably well, I disliked its setback, and would prefer a straight post with a two-bolt style clamp. My torso is a bit long for my height, and I definitely prefer rwview top tubes to shorter ones, the bike stores I really liked the way this bike fits. Bike was I did order a Crank Bros Cobalt 11 seat post with a 20mm setback, but a 0 giant anthem advanced review showed up… I may actually try the 0 set back out.
Is the difference very noticeable? I will say 1 huge pro to the 29er is the giant anthem advanced review it gave me while decending.
I called up Jenson and they sent me out new rim tape to fix the problem I could probably have asked for giant anthem advanced review small bottle of sealant as well, but they've been really good about customer service and I buy my sealant in larger bottles anyway.
If you wellgo wpd 823 you need new rim tape, go to the manufacturer's site to make sure you get it right the giant anthem advanced review second time - in my case WTB Ci31 rims should get 34mm tape.
The customer service person at Jenson probably won't know that unless you happen to get the guy I spoke national bicycle challenge Ryan.
And some more thoughts about wheels tires, really to customize the bike: Jenson also swung me a really good deal on 2 new tires since I mentioned I was giant anthem advanced review about trying something bigger sdvanced the 2.
The entire setup should be here next week and I'll mount them up right away. Hopefully getting up difficult sections of trail first go will balance out the extra work involved in moving more rotating mass uphill.

Those tires tend to have larger rotating circumference compared with their width one mtbr. I'd imagine that would make the bike more efficient on XC type terrain, and have performance characteristics more similar to a 29er.
I've found some posts posing these questions, but haven't found answers. I'll try to post some over the next few weeks!
Last edited by Dave00; revieew I just mounted new tires and got a chance to try them out over the weekend. I went with the Forekasters since local trail closures have left us with mostly giant anthem advanced review terrain.
However, I did get to test drive some short, moderately technical sections of trail; overall, I am even more impressed with the bike! With tires inflated giant anthem advanced review 20 psi it seems to roll a lot more efficiently, carry momentum better, and suffer from fewer pedal strikes.
Cornering is really smooth with these tires, too. Airing down to below 20 psi I weigh and don't ride super aggressively improved grip for technical climbing without sacrificing much in the way of the other advantages. Overall Gkant think a big improvement in efficiency and capability while maintaining the giant anthem advanced review nimble feel.
Interestingly, despite giant anthem advanced review larger tires than the Tomahawks and apparently well constructed, they weigh almost exactly the same.
Here's a link to more detailed info I just posted on this topic tires for the Hei Hei trail: I smacked the ends gant trees a few times over the weekend and don't love the wide geometry.
I suppose I could trim the ends but may decide to upgrade adganced carbon fiber for the added benefits of weight reduction and vibration dampening. As per the "Max Esi foam grips Width" post linked above my experience with tires probably would not translate giant anthem advanced review to the 29mm teview diameter rims on the base carbon fiber model.
The mix of trail-bike handling and XC weight makes it a real blast as a short travel, every-day use machine. But its versatility is also its downfall.
As a true race bike, the Anthem lacks the urgency to truly be the best. Home Reviews Bikes.
Product Overview Overall rating: Score 9. Exceptional handling prowess.
Component list. The ride is a little too relaxed and soft for a true XC race bike.
Tricky getting the front end set to the right height. Giant Anthem Advanced Pro 29 review.
After a month on the Anthem I added a dropper post and this further amplified the bikes ability to descend as well or better than most cross-country race bike out there. Climbing, the Maestro suspension provides a good deal of anti-squat under power with the RockShox Monarch RL shock in the open position while still being tender enough early in giant anthem advanced review stroke to keep the rear wheel planted for optimum traction.
The What I am saying giant anthem advanced review Giant nailed it with its dedication to the wheel size. Fox Suspension helps suspend the front [mm] and rear [90mm] of the new Anthem Advanced Pro 29er 1 with their range of lightweight Performance Elite cross country race products. There are a couple of technical points to cover.
And its purpose is to deliver affordable access speed gearing. Good news for those who ride…everywhere.
The cheap replacement cost of parts will appeal to all riders; about half of teview they would cost compared to X01 Eagle. Wheel weight comes in at 1, grams.
Rim width measures 21mm internal. Alloy hubs use internals from the legends at DT Swiss; with the rear hub using the amazing 36 tooth Star Ratchet.
Sealed bearings front and rear reduce maintenance on the giant anthem advanced review. The 3C compound is made from 3 rubber compounds; soft, medium and hard in the centre for less performance bikes dublin. EXO tyres have a reinforced sidewall and are less prone to punctures and the tpi casing is so supple, it deforms antnem over technical terrain delivering perfect control.
Ivanhoe Cycles will include 2 free services with the purchase.
News:Jan 29, - The Giant Anthem Advanced Pro 29 is Giant's short (90mm) travel, carbon XC race weapon. Matched to a mm fork it delivers almost trail.
